No, our Wolf Islander and Wolf Jet scooters are 49cc, so in South Carolina, you only need to be 16 years of age or older and a valid standard driver’s license to operate one.
Every rental includes a fully fueled scooter, a DOT-approved helmet, a security lock, a 3 way USB charging cable, a portable Bluetooth speaker and a quick orientation on how to ride safely.
Yes, a refundable security deposit is required at the time of rental. The amount will depend on the scooter model and rental duration.
Absolutely! While we provide helmets at no charge with all rentals, we’re also an authorized dealer for MicroDot Helmet Company. You can purchase a helmet during checkout when booking—just select your preferred type, and we’ll reach out for sizing and color. We keep helmets in stock, but for custom colors, please allow two weeks lead time before your rental date.

Rules & Requirements
We do not offer insurance for purchase. Each scooter rental includes state-standard auto coverage through MBA Business Auto Insurance, which only covers damages to the other party in the event of an accident. This policy does not provide coverage for the renter, nor does it cover repair or replacement costs for the scooter. The renter is fully responsible for their own safety and any costs associated with damage, loss, or theft of the scooter and accessories.
Safety comes first! If you are involved in an accident, call 911 immediately. After ensuring everyone’s safety, contact Chucktown Scooters for assistance. All damage will be assessed, and repair costs may be deducted from your security deposit.
Delivery & Pick-Up
We deliver and pick up anywhere in Charleston, including the historic downtown, beach towns, and surrounding areas. Just let us know where you need your scooter, and we’ll handle the rest!
At the end of your rental, just park the scooter in the agreed-upon location, and we’ll come retrieve it—no hassle, no extra trips!
Other Helpful Info
Our 49cc scooters can reach speeds of about 30-35 mph and typically get up to 100 miles per gallon, making them a fun and fuel-efficient way to explore Charleston.
We maintain our scooters to the highest standard, but if you experience an issue, call us, and we’ll bring you a replacement ASAP.
Absolutely! We offer daily, multi-day, and weekly rental options. Just let us know how long you need it.
Nope! Your rental comes fully fueled, and we’ll handle refueling when you return it. Just ride and enjoy.
- To pair to phone, turn on power, enable bluetooth on your device, look for “Pulse Sounds” from device list and select. Speaker will give audible response ” Bluetooth Connected” and blue indicator light will light.
- To pair second speaker to the first after first speaker is paired to device, power on second speaker, double press Play/ Pause button. Second speaker will be paired. Can only pair two speakers together.
- To pair each speaker to separate device, follow step one with each speaker.
